The Gym Group are one of the UK largest Gym chains serving 820,000 customers across over 200 locations throughout the UK, operating 24 hours a day. The Group are hugely involved in sustainable practice becoming the UK’s first carbon neutral gym, with targets to achieve net-zero by 2045. To help on this journey Powerhub worked with The Gym Group across sites nationwide to install our Voltage Optimisation technology that enables estates to run more efficiently by reducing kilowatt consumption, whilst still maximising equipment usage.

The Gym Group’s Sustainability Activities

Already sitting as the UK’s first carbon neutral gym chain, their efforts continue through a whole host of additional initiatives. All lighting in the gym’s are now fitted with LED lighting, showers in the changing facilities are of high efficiency and they are already purchasing 100% renewable energy.

They have plans to remove single use plastics from vending machines and in the coming years will remove all gas heating and exchange for water heating across all sites.
