Project Overview:
Client: Hotel Group
Location: Stevenage
Industry: Hospitality
System Size: 64kWp
Carbon Savings: 13.2 Tonnes of CO2 per Year
Annual Energy Generation: 52,279kWh

Background:
We are working with a hotel management company who are long-term clients. Part of their remit for their sites is offset a proportion of CO2 per year and reduce costs to meet their sustainability targets. Although the building was small compared to the usage, we still managed to save them a combined 15% across various solutions including solar PV.
• Challenges: The main challenge of this install was the height of the building and limited amount of car parking available to get plant into the site to do lifting of the kit on the roof.
• Objectives: Reducing energy costs and CO2 emissions throughout the group.
Solution Provided:
• System Design: A flat roof 64kW PV installation on a 30m high rooftop using Van Der Valk mounting system. 1x 50kW Solis Inverter was installed across 1 connection points.
• Installation Process: Being a flat roof, we confirmed the structural suitability & condition of the roof. There was existing rail and parapet wall on the roof which complied with H&S requirements during the installation. In the background we applied to the DNO for grid approval and planning consent to then progress with the installation. The install was then 1 weeks on site and although the high roof posed its challenges the install went smoothly.
• Technology Used: The site is installed with a specialist flat roof mounting system and Solis inverters which provide the client with monitoring of the system.
