Free Readiness Guide
Up to 25% off with BICS, 10 to 15% more with us.
The British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme (BICS) removes three specific charges – the Renewables Obligation, Feed-in Tariffs and the Capacity Market – from an eligible manufacturer’s electricity bill. Together they’re worth an estimated £35 to £40 for every megawatt hour a business consumes, which is where the “up to 25%” figure comes from for businesses that qualify in full.
Applications for year one open 1 October 2026 and close 30 November 2026, and they can’t be amended once submitted, so it’s worth knowing where you stand before the window opens.
We’ve put together a short readiness guide covering:
- What BICS is, and the three charges it removes
- Who qualifies; the sector, product and consumption tests
- What it could be worth, with a worked example
- The key dates for year one
- What to check before you apply
