What is an Energy Management System (EMS)?
An EMS is software and hardware that helps a business monitor, control and reduce its energy consumption. Powerhub Pulse is a full EMS aligned to ISO 50001 that adds Measurement and Verification to IPMVP standard, plus remote asset control. Most platforms in the UK market do one or two of these. Pulse does all four.
How does Powerhub verify the savings?
IPMVP is the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol, the global gold standard for verifying energy savings. Powerhub Pulse is the only UK EMS that delivers IPMVP Option A, B and C measurement plans as standard.
It matters because savings that are not measured to IPMVP cannot be put on a balance sheet, used as compliance evidence, or trusted in an exit data room. Without IPMVP, savings are claims. With IPMVP, savings are proof.
What reporting does Powerhub Pulse generate?
Pulse collects live energy data across every site and circuit, month by month. That data forms the verified energy baseline your team needs for any reporting obligation. Pulse Compliance, launching September 2026, will use the same data layer to support a range of regulatory reporting requirements.
Does Pulse work with my existing Building Management System (BMS)?
Yes. Pulse uses an open API with Modbus, BACnet and LoRaWAN support, so it bolts onto your existing BMS, finance system or facilities platform without rip-and-replace. There is no lock-in or proprietary protocol. Use Pulse alongside what you have, or run it standalone.
