Funding to accelerate recruitment, in-house technology, and delivery as demand for accountable energy reduction reaches new highs
Powerhub Solutions has secured a £500,000 growth loan from River Capital, delivered through the North West Business Growth Loan Fund, with a further £250,000 approved in principle. The investment marks a significant moment in powerhub’s growth and reflects the rising commercial urgency around energy reduction across the UK.
A business built differently
Founded in 2021 by Founder and Managing Director James Beck, Powerhub Solutions has become one of the UK’s leading providers of end-to-end energy reduction for the commercial sector. The business delivers across proven solutions including Power Management, KBR refrigeration controls, IoT Energy Management Systems, and designs, installs, commissions and verifies its work entirely in-house.
Powerhub Solutions employs its own engineers, no subcontractors, no ambiguity, just one accountable partner, transparent reporting, and verified evidence of the savings delivered.
A team that’s grown up fast
Powerhub Solutions has grown from a handful of people at launch to a team of more than 30, with over 10 new colleagues joining in the last financial year alone. Just as significant has been the growth within the team: promotions, expanded responsibilities and real career progression, alongside some major personal milestones. The business has grown rapidly year on year and is forecasting close to doubling revenue in FY2026.
Its client base spans hospitality, leisure and retail, including NatWest, Moto Hospitality, The Gym Group, Punch Pubs, and Nature’s Way Foods.
Why now
Demand for robust, transparent and fully accountable energy reduction is accelerating. The investment allows Powerhub Solutions to keep pace with that demand without compromising the in-house quality clients expect, to expand the team across sales, marketing, operations and engineering, and to give clients greater flexibility in how they work with powerhub, whether through CAPEX, OPEX or blended models.
It also supports the next chapter: a brand new website, a whole new energy ecosystem, and a pipeline of new products and solutions designed to be genuinely disruptive.
The market context
Annual commercial and industrial electricity spend in the UK exceeds £30 billion. With businesses facing tightening net-zero obligations, rising energy costs and growing ESG reporting requirements, energy reduction has moved firmly onto the board agenda. Powerhub is built to meet that demand with a model that is proven, scalable and fully accountable.
In his own words
James Beck, Founder and Managing Director, Powerhub Solutions:
“The number is a proud milestone, but it isn’t the story the team is. We’ve built something I genuinely believe is different in this industry: a full in-house model where our own engineers design, install, commission and verify every project, so clients get one partner and real, verified savings. This funding lets us keep pace with demand, grow our team and give clients more flexibility in how they work with us, without ever cutting corners. I’m proud of where we are and genuinely excited about what comes next.
My thanks to Tim Marlow for his guidance from the very start, to Mike Dinnell at Leonard Curtis, and to Chris Carter and the team at River Capital for backing what we’re building.”
Chris Carter, Investment Manager, River Capital:
“Powerhub is a high-growth, market-leading company with a credible and impressive management team, a proven model and a clear path forward. James and the team have built something genuinely outstanding in a short space of time, and the governance and commercial discipline they have added gives us real confidence in the journey ahead.”
Mike Dinnell, Structured Debt Manager, Leonard Curtis:
“The business clearly stands out for its ability to deliver measurable energy savings to businesses of all sizes. The value add is tangible from day one. Demand for Powerhub’s products and services is becoming increasingly important at a time when cost control and meeting sustainability targets are a priority.”
